Welcome to the site of Knit Wool Australia, where we shall share with you our life time satisfaction enjoying the craft of KNITTING and offer you all the requirements you will need to take up and master the craft, or for those of you who already knit, we offer Australia's best known range of hand knitting patterns, yarns and accessories. For BEGINNERS, kits will walk you along the path, until you have the confidence to look at a pattern, and choose your own yarn. We will be in contact for you to have help if required. We hope many of these articles will appeal to children and teenagers, as it is by encouraging young people that the craft will continue to pass through the generations. There is an abundance of books to choose from for the accomplished knitter, and an abundance of Australian 100% pure wool, and many new fashion mixed or synthetic yarns. Some items are in COMPLETE KIT FORM so that EVERYTHING YOU REQUIRE TO MAKE THAT GARMENT IS INCLUDED, pattern, needles ,yarn ,all you have to do is choose the number of balls and colour. Alternatively all items may be ordered separately.. All postage is calculated at Air Mail rate. We hope that once many of you build your collection of Australian books and yarns, that we can share your ideas in a chat situation, in on-line classes and workshops. The site will update weekly to share with you our combined experience, to help you complete your garments efficiently, put them together by hand or by sewing machine, care for them, and you will be able to ask us questions if there is something in particular you need assistance with. We will systematically introduce you to all the yarns and books. Many knitters in Australia use 100% wool, as we believe that if you spend many hours, and some expense making a garment, wool in many cases "will last a lifetime". However the addition of some synthetic to yarn does have certain advantages, and you will notice that many of the latest fashion yarns are 100% synthetic, and they are proving to be great fun. Once you have mastered the basic stitches, knitting is a craft you can do whilst watching TV, being a passenger in a car, whilst reading, while watching your favourite spectator sport, or while watching the children at their school sporting practice games. Once you become addicted, it is like any other craft, you always have to have some knitting not far from arm's reach. Let us help you enjoy KNITTING and come to know the satisfaction and relaxation of curling up in front of the fire with a good book, maybe the TV or music, and your KNITTING.
